What is an air conditioner?

An air conditioner is a system or mechanism by which heat of a place can be extracted through refrigeration cycle. It is a mechanical device which is largely used in home, car or shopping complex for giving comfortable temperature.

Generally heat flows from higher temperature region to lower temperature region. In an air conditioner the direction of heat become opposite by the healp of heat pump.An air conditioner is generally consist of a condenser,an evaporator and a compressor. When refrigerant is pumped in evaporator it convert itself into vapour. At this time refrigerant absorbs heat from the room air due to a temperature differance between refrigerator and room air. This heated vapour is compressed by a compressor driven by an ellectric motor and convert itself into liquid phase.Due to temperature differance between the liquid and environment liquid leaves heat to the environment and again it is prepared to go through evaporator. This is the simple discription of the working function of an air conditioner.
